From a dream to reality

My name is Caedmon Van Putten and I am a high school student living in South Glengarry.

Ever since I was interested in cameras at a young age, I grew to where I am today. Over the years I became interested in flying and wanted to become a pilot (which I still do!). I purchased my first Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), otherwise known as a drone.

At first it was just for fun and I liked seeing something fly that I was controlling. As my hobby grew, I bought a remote controlled styrofoam airplane while I was at the Gatineau Airshow in 2023. In the springtime of 2024, I upgraded from a Holystone HS720E to the DJI Mini 4 PRO. It has been my best friend for years and has offered so much adventure.

My mother has supported me over the years with learning camera techniques and software programs. She has been my mentor since as long as I remember and I thank her for all of her support in my journey. Another supporter is my teacher, who guided me along the ways of Media Arts and photography, as well as more software programs in the first semester of 2025-26 school year.

Flying and dreaming of my wings, as well as inspiration from my older brother, propelled me to join the Royal Canadian Air Cadets when I turned 12, which I still parade today with 325 Squadron, here in Cornwall, Ontario. My future goal is to join the Canadian Armed Forces and to go on to become an Air Force pilot, whether it’s with drones, cargo aircrafts, fighters, as long as I’m flying I’ll love it.

My certifications are: Radio Operator Certificate / Aeronautical and Basic Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Certificate. I am working on my Ham Radio Operator License and Advanced Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Certificate. Both of my drones, the DJI NEO and DJI Mini 4 PRO are registered with Transport Canada.

Some of my backstories go like this: In 2021 during the pandemic, I, with help from my parents, built countless bird feeders and raised up and over our goal of $1000. The funds went towards CHEO. In 2023, I was nominated for the Kindness is Cool category of the Cogeco Youth Awards. There is a lot more to say but I’ll keep it short.

In the start of this year, 2026, I discovered my life will be about service towards others, from fundraising, to cadets, to Vadropho, then to the Air Force. That is why my goal is to capture your moments for you, so you can enjoy them in the moment. Life moves quick, and we tend to plunge into cameras to try and capture the moment to uphold the events value. But what is the most valuable, is being present and experiencing it without distractions.

What makes Vadropho different, is that I ensure every photo has a story, just like you, just like me.
